Working With People Who Have Caused Harm Community of Practice
A community for student leaders, campus educators, counsellors, and student affairs professionals, human resources specialists, conduct officers, to explore promising practices to work with campus community members who have caused harm.

Tool: Supporting the Whole Campus Community: A Roadmap Tool for Working with People Who Have Caused Harm
The tool includes guidelines and recommended practices for working with PWCH/respondents; a roadmap of a typical GBV process with a focus on the respondent; key terms, values and principles for working with PWCH/ respondents; reflective questions, considerations and calls to action.
Why was it important to create a CP to address issues related to people who have caused harm (PWCH)/respondents?
They are people and members of the campus community;
They may also identify as survivors and have experienced harm/trauma, necessitating the use of a trauma-informed approach for all parties;
Putting them through a procedurally fair process means that decisions are less likely to be appealed, reviewed, judicially challenged which translates into less harm for the survivor/complainant;
The ideal is for a PWCH to go through a meaningful process that is about accountability, rather than denial, litigation, silence etc.
Ultimately, this increases safety for survivors and the greater community.
